A presence alongside people with disabilities and their families for more than fifty years
UILDM is a cranepgroup of citizens who operate in the Verona area since 1971 in favor of people suffering from illnesses neuromuscular, specifically from Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) and Muscular dystrophies (DM).
Both degenerative pathologies with limited therapeutic actionsutical.

INFORMATION AND AWARENESS RAISING

HELP FOR FAMILIES through psychological support and closeness.

PROMOTION OF “Independent Living” PROJECTS, organizing training meetings and accompanying direct experiences.

TRANSPORT SERVICE to accompany people with disabilities to places of treatment, to work, to places of study and to places relating to free time.

YOUTH GROUP: organizing moments of meeting, socialization and integration, with activities organized mainly outside the association.

TOURIST OUTINGS of a day or more, to brighten up the days.

SUPPORT GROUP (Self-help) aimed at women with neuromotor pathologies and women who are family members of patients.

Information and awareness.
For the management of professional rehabilitation activities, they gave life to "Fondazione Speranza ONLUS" (Outpatient Rehabilitation Centre) which currently follows around 500 patients and in 2022 provided 26,000 healthcare services.
TELETHON RESEARCH
Telethon Foundation was founded in 1990, listening to the appeal of family members di some patients suffering from muscular dystrophy, one of over 571 rare genetic diseases on which it has funded worthy research projects since 1990, promising and far-sighted.
Since its foundation, UILDM VERONA has supported research activities of Telethon through the organization of fundraising and initiatives aimed at disseminating knowledge in the field of research.
